Why do they turn such a great singer as Alexandra Burke into a cheap pop-doll?

I really, really lover her voice but I just listened to her new album and I’m absolutely disappointed. It’s not her fault that she has to sing these crappy songs but why don’t they give her some real music to sing?? This is ridiculous – why does X-Factor need such great singers to sing their cheap and boring pop-songs? Even Britney’s songs are better (although Alexandra is a thousand times better when it comes to singing)
