I love Leona’s voice. I think Susan sang I Dreamed a Dream very amazingly and beautifully. I wasn’t quite as impressed when she sang Memories, but she said that she had had a cold and was also facing extreme pressure that some other contestants did not have. I think the media has added a lot of distraction and that Susan would do better if she didn’t have all that distraction and questions about how famous she has become and just let her do what she is there for—to sing and compete.
In spite of me feeling a little less impressed by her Memories song, I remind myself that her River of Dreams recording is just as good as Leona’s singing. I think I would like to hear more of Susan before I could make a decision on how she consistently compares to Leona.
I just wish the media would give her some space, even though she says that she is enjoying it. I think it will distract her from doing her best.
