Ask the The National Academy of Recording Art. They chose it.

I can’t stand Leona. Her voice is like nails on a chalkboard. She is such a Mariah Carey wannabe

Adele simply won the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance because she was”the best in that category”.Not everyone loves her nor Leona Lewis but Adele won.Remember, regular people(citizens)are not voting,it’s the Grammy’s cast members,or commitee,or whatever.Anyways…..they are most likely choosing the winners based on vocals……of course! ~ :*).Adele’s voice maybe was truely better.

I think Leona Lewis does have great range but if you’ve never heard Adele’s album you can’t compare the two fairly.
    I have Leona’s and Adele’s albums.
Adele is a great artist who writes a lot of her own songs. Her voice is very mature for a 20 year old.
You have to remember the entire package won the award – song quality, unique, voice.

Leona is very bubble gum factory and Adele is unique
